Manila, Philippines - Our first duo travel

December 2018

Our first duo travel trip to the Philippines. This time we are visiting Manila. The biggest city in the philippines.
Went there with my highschool bestie. We were supposedly went there with my other two highschool bff but they couldn't make it at last minute. Been planning about this since January 2018, and finally the day has come !

We were still enjoying the trip, despite only two of us left.
We went there for 6D5N. Total expenses for flight tickets and hotel for 6 Days around RM600 for each person

I spend almost RM1k during the trip for food, transport, and shopping. There is no entrance fee for most of the place that we visits.

I will surely come back to Manila and explore more cause there are some places that we were not able to go because of the bad weather.

We were usually mistaken as filipinos because they always speak tagalog to us 😂😂 and their response was always "oh, sorry I thought you were Filipinos'' when we said we're not a local. Fortunately I can understand and speak a little bit of tagalog ( thanks to the pinoy drama ) 😂 Its very useful when shopping in the local market. Some of them will charge you extra if they know you're a tourist.

Manila Cathedral

A horse carriage. Just a photo, i don't have the courage to try it.
I pity the horse.

INDONESIA : Jakarta-Jogja-Bandung

Sorry for the long delay. I haven't got a time to continue my travel story for the past few weeks. I've been busy with work and things.

So today I want to share my experience going on a looonng road trip from Jakarta - Jogja - Bandung .

Just to let you know that Jogja was not in our itinerary list. They suddenly wants to go Jogja and visit the Borobudur Temple. 😂

We arrived Yogyakarta around 7pm. We stayed at Abadi Hotel Jogja in Malioboro for the night. The place is strategic as it is not far from the Yogyakarta train station, it just a few minutes walk. The night life around Malioboro is awesome. there is a nearby cafe where you can just chill and enjoy the night while listening to the life music. There is also a lot of streets artist performing there. If you want to buy souvenirs, you can browse around the streets too. There is a lot of shops selling many kinds of souvenirs - clothes, keychains, pants, bags, purse, batik jawa and a lot more.

Next morning, we continue our journey to the Borobudur Temple.
Entrance fee : RP 300,000 (around RM 80) for non-locals.

But instead going in with them, i just wonder around the nearby shops and searching for food. Cause i was damn hungry that time. 😆

I found a little jewel while I was wondering around. There is this guest house with a unique design and the place is filled with different kind of statues.

The old man is the one who take care of the house. It was actually a family house, turned into a guest house. If you're around here , don't forget to stop by and check out his place.

INDONESIA : Jakarta

My travel story.

This is the first time in my 23 years of life travelling overseas, and of course I get excited 😁
I went together with my housemates, her families and friends. I also made friends with them along the way.

p/s This gonna be a long post.

Friday - 9/8/18

Flight from Penang to KLIA 2 .
While waiting for our flight next morning, we have to stay at the airport for the night.

looking pale. i just woke up and have breakfast

Saturday - 10/8/18

KLIA 2

We met with Claire's parents, aunts, cousins and friends.
Depart to Jakarta from KLIA 2 at 0845 morning and the flight took about two hours. We finally arrive at Soekarno - Hatta International Airport at 1030 am (Malaysia Time) .

Note : Indonesia is an hour late compared to Malaysia.

Waiting for our flights to Jakarta

We land at Soekarno - Hatta International Airport. Excuse the bare face. lol.

Upon arrival , we were greet by our driver , Pak Yunus . He is a petite man, and he maybe in his late 40s .

So our first destination is Mangga Dua . We went to ITC Mangga Dua and have our lunch there. I don't really have a good experience with the food tho. I just want to laugh when I remember about it. Something we don't really expect about their food especially the chicken. hahaha 😂

After lunch , we went for a little shopping while waiting for our driver. This place is like a shopping heaven for me. Its cheap and super affordable ! I can get a top for only IDR 30,000 its only around 6 or 7 ringgit 😱 and its a new top ! I will upload what i bought during this trip later. I spend about IDR 200,000 to buy 8 pieces of clothes and that is around MYR 60. Back home, I won't get 8 pieces of new tops with such amount.

2 bags full of clothes
After tired of shopping we went to our hotel , checked in - unpacked luggage - rest - and have a nice showers. I forgot to take pictures of our room.

We went out again around 7pm for dinner. This time we have dinner at Warung Tekko. It is a nice place with nice food. Its not a cheap place but it is affordable .

Selfie first. >.<

My dinner for the night. Special Ikan Nila IDR 42,500

sweet sour fish. Nyamannn

They called it 'Konro Bakar' - its a grill lamb.

Our receipt. for 6 pax. ** Pajak Resto is service charge

Its the end of our first day in Jakarta today. Back to our hotel room. Tomorrow gonna be another day.

Sunday - 11/08/2018

We have our breakfast at the hotel. It just an ordinary Indonesian style breakfast but it tastes good. I love it.

with Claire's parents.

** excuse for the low image quality **

After having breakfast and wash up , we went straight to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah - Ancol .
This is a theme park where you can see a lot of different Indonesian culture across the provinces.

Friends and family during the trip

Trying to take insta-worthy photo but nahhh ~

excuse the bloated face 😆😆

But since this place is so big that we couldn't cover it for just a day, we separate into group. Claire, Alex , Bivy and me went to Ancol Dreamland, while the others went to Pasar Seni @ Kampung Betawi.

DUFAN - Dunia Fantasi / Dreamland

Wahana Halilintar

I got dizzy playing this roller coaster . Nasib seja tida muntah 😆

Adam looking curiously at the face mask

so we just spend half of our day at Ancol. playing and burning rupiahs 😆

After tired of playing, we went to Thamrin city for another shopping spree.

but before shopping , i need to fill my tummy. Its been grumbling ever since.

This small bakso cost IDR 25,000 - about RM 7 . Very expansive bakso , and it only have 4 bakso in it. -____-'

Finished our meal, the shopping continues. :P

** No photos during shopping because I am so focused in doing what I do **

😆😆😆

A little highlight of our days in Jakarta. Hope you enjoy.
